RADIO RECALL...THE JIM HAMPTON SHOW

Let’s go back in time, before CD’s and MP3’s, when Radio was King, when we didn’t take ourselves so seriously. Back to the songs and the stars and the memories that were one of a kind. Back to Radio One More Time!

Radio Recall celebrates the great songs and memories of the 60’s with flashbacks to the 50’s. It’s the biggest hits in Pop, Rock and Roll!

Jim Hampton's RADIO RECALL© is filled with great hits and rare records that are seldom, if ever, played on radio today. Plus, there are lots of fun and informative features like:

  • Flashback Countdown, a look at the top 5 hits on this date in music history
  • ThinkBack – an hourly music trivia feature
  • Battle of the Legends – each week your favorite artists battle it out
  • Misheard Lyrics – which highlights our misinterpretation of some of the most popular song lyrics
  • This Date in Music History – rare interviews with your favorite music stars of the past
  • Tune That Name – a backwards musical guessing game
  • AirChekUSA – an actual air check from a great DJ of the past
  • Honor Roll of Rock ‘n Roll – a salute to one of the great legends
  • ActionCentral News – Legendary ABC news ace Bob Hardt recalls the headlines from years past.

Jim Hampton's Radio Recall is a very unique weekly trip back into time. The music of forgotten decades are like long lost friends. And, Jim’s friendly style of communication puts you right back into those memorable eras. Yesterday is new again!

Jim Hampton earned his DJ stripes in Detroit during the Motown and Beatle years at WXYZ, later WABX & WCAR, and then on to Chicago’s WLS where he was Production Manager and on-the-air. When Jim moved to Los Angeles, he was one of the pioneers of syndicated radio programming, originating some of the biggest shows out of Hollywood, including: Robert W. Morgan’s Record Report, Steve Lundy’s Hitbound From Billboard, and hundreds of superstar specials for ABC, RKO, CBS, BBC, and even Tokyo FM and Radio Shanghai.

Jim brings a fresh, warm and friendly, albeit irreverent style to radio with RADIO RECALL that doesn’t take itself too seriously. I mean, after all, what were we thinking back then?
